I LOVE being a middle school media specialist and getting kids hooked on reading. There is nothing better than having a student come in that says they don’t like to read and helping them find the book that makes them a “reader”. 💗 📚
I was the teacher that won last month's contest & was SO excited! I can't wait to get my copy of the book. More importantly, my students were able to see how EXCITED a person could get when immersed in a series or author! I hope to have ignited that passion in my students ❣️
First, I want to say that I love your books. The first one I read was Two Truths and a Lie, and that sent me on a spiral of buying your other books and reading them(My absolute favorites have been Run, Hide, Fight Back and Girl Forgotten). I love reading in general(mystery, thriller, and the occassional fantasy). I also love watching Criminal Minds. And most importantly, I love my family.
Family is key! And reading. You've got the building blocks of a great life right there. Also, have you read The Lonely Dead? There's a Tori in there. Spoiler alert: she's dead, but she doesn't know it.
Congratulations on your latest award nominations, April! I love to read. I really do. One thing that has stayed central to who I am since I was very young.
My parents claimed I started reading at three. If true, it must have been really simple things, but I still remember that feeling that books were magic!
Congratulations!! The new book sounds awesome! Can’t wait to read it! I love the button necklace idea too, so fun!!! I love that memory because it made me think of something I would do with my grama. I’ve been missing her (she was like my mom) a little extra! I love to spend time with my kitties/family/friends!!
I love my children and grandchildren so much!! They are so much fun. I love watching them all learn and develop their personalities.
The place I love to be is sitting on a beach under the umbrella reading a great mystery or love story!! I love all of April Henry’s mysteries and worked at our Junior High they were the first books I suggested if the students wanted a great mystery!
This is such a fun question to answer- love to hear laughing, friends that know we don't have time to bother with all the little stuff that doesn't really matter, sledding with the grandkids, students' excitement over books, and the fact that my library para (right-hand-gal!) said that I have to be the one to check out all of your books to the kiddos since you and I talked about our kids growing up in a past thread. It's so funny- again, love the silliness!
Okay, you won that copy of the book I loved so much! Send me your address at april at aprilhenry.com. (hopefully you can figure that address out - trying to avoid spam)

That's my favorite part of my job, too - hearing from teens who started thinking of themselves as readers after discovering my books.
I love making biscuits from scratch using the recipe my mom used and that I memorized decades ago! Your mom's necklaces just made me think of that.
A good biscuit recipe is worth its weight in gold!

I haven't read that one yet.

Great! I’m so excited! Thank you so much!! :)
It's the only way I feel artistic at all. Otherwise I'm hopeless.
